Evil Sesame Street???

So..basically Sesame Street used to be evil. Oscar was a grouch and needed to be on anti depressants, not to mention he lives in a garbage can!! Ohhhh the inhumanity! Bert and Ernie were secretly lovers, Big Bird was hallucinating(probably because he was on LSD), Cookie Monster was an overeater, Kermit and Miss Piggy were having premarital sex though would not admit it, Gordon, Maria, and Bob were pedophiles befriending kids, Mr. Hooper was selling drugs out of his store. Ok so I made a few of these up...but how far can this go?



Do we forget that Sesame Street muppets today are NAKED!!! . Or how about Elmo and his craziness...You know he has to be on cocaine or something to have that much energy right?



I just feel that all the things we read into are carrying it too far. Maybe Im far off base, and if you dont agree with me...you have every right. However, PLEASE PLEASE dont condemn me. If you want to give me your opinion, I welcome it with an open mind...but I expect it too.



I will say this. I do agree that kids seeing Gordon take the lost girl home for milk and cookies, can be dangerous for kids to watch...but the rest of it...Come on! Where are parents now a days?? Do we not talk to our kids and teach them right and wrong? Do we not explain the some of this stuff is off the wall? I think we have handed off our responsibility as parents to the television and the people who make decisions about it. We need to control what our kids watch, and discuss with them the things they watch.
